Overview [ ] Spell Backfire is a
common card found within the Mystic Wisdom Card Pack . When used, the card deals 25 damage to the selected target, but also deals 20% damage to the caster.
Strategy [ ] Spell Backfire has one of the highest Bit-to-Damage ratios in the game of 25. Because of its one-bit cost, it is a very strong and effective card to bring in aggressive brawler decks. Unlike Soul Missile or Soul Blast, any buffs or debuffs consumed will also increase or decrease the recoil damage . For example, a 25% buff will increase damage to 31 while increasing the recoil to 6 while a 25% debuff will decrease damage to 18 while decreasing the recoil to 3.
It's a popular choice in PvP because of its ability to eliminate Hired Wizards instantly and is often combined with Aura Pierce to perform very high damage in a few turns.
